To help Albertans manage higher heating costs due to volatile natural gas prices, we've put in place an energy rebate program to shield consumers from price spikes. The deferred costs will be added to the RRO rate during the 21-month period.Any costs above the 13.5 cent price ceiling have been deferred and will be repaid over 21 months from April 2023 to December 2024.Consumers on the RRO were not charged more than 13.5 cents per kilowatt hour in January, February and March 2023.Many RRO and competitive contract consumers also received electricity rebates. This does not apply to consumers who have signed a competitive (fixed rate) contract.
